Cats offered here for adoption have tested negative for FIV and FLV and live in foster homes on the Island. They come with a lifetime return guarantee. If you are interested in these cats or in signing up for other adoptable cats or kittens, please get in touch with us at (212) 593-1054 or contact@islandcats.org.
We update the pages as new cats and kittens arrive, so please check back if you don't see a cat that appeals to you.
TANSY
TANSY is a friendly little girl who gets along well with other cats. She was hand-raised by Island Cats volunteers who found her near the Octagon when she was less than three weeks old. (Her mother was also subsequently rescued by Island Cats, and adopted.) Tansy loves to eat and play with toys.
BANJO
BANJO is a young, healthy male cat who savors life with great enthusiasm despite a missing back foot, which the vet believes may have been a birth defect. He gets around quickly and is very good at climbing into laps though not so much up stairs. Banjo is keen to show how much he appreciates kindness and food, which were sorely missing during the months he lived as an abandoned cat. His favorite food is Greek yogurt, particularly peach.
BEN
BEN is a very affectionate, gentle older cat who had to be moved into a foster home after his owner died. He is unhappy in the new, multi-cat home. He'd probably be happiest living with perhaps one other elderly cat or on his own, and would make a good pet for an elderly person. Island Cats would be willing to pay for food, litter and any medical expenses to the right person, should help be needed. Ben would thrive with somone who is willing to give him the peace and attention this lovable old guy so deserves.
PANDA is a little firecracker, abandoned this year, a sassy, funny diva who is probably about three years old. She is a cat for someone with a sense of humor and an appreciation for her lively appetite for life.
